1863년 5월12일 Olmsted와 Vaux는 뉴욕시에 제출한 서류에 그들의 직업을 


스스로 \"조경가(Landscape Archiect)\"라고 칭하였고, 


5월14일 뉴욕시공원위원회에서는 


\"이들의 높은 예술적 취향과 탁월한 전문능력에 확고한 신뢰를 보낸다


unabated confidence in their high artistic taste and in their superior 


professional abilities.라는 설명과 함께


그들의 직업 \"조경가\"를 공식적으로 인정하게 되었다.





따라서 오늘 5월14일은 \"조경이 탄생한 날\"인 것이다. 


뭔가 기념할만한 좋은 음악이 없을까 찾아보다가, 


우연히 Al Stewart의 \'The palace of Versailles\'를 찾게 되었답니다. 


Olmsted와 Vaux할아버지를 추념하면서 Andre le Notre의 Versailles궁을 노래한
